Who doesn't love dressing up and being taken around for a spin for date night.
Jaz and I were lucky enough to experience Fairmont Hotel Macdonald's hospitality together on our date night.
I put on my favourite red jumpsuit and headed to the bar. The bar is full of deliciously customized and unique drinks. I had a:
'Gin and Jam' > beefeaters gin | cherry whiskey | lemon juice | pomegranate juice | egg whites | cherry jam and Jaz got a:
'Moscow Mule' > stolichnaya | lime juice | simple syrup | ginger purée | ginger beer
The drinks were familiar and tastes I am used to, but I am convinced they have secret ingredients that took it from level 'good' to 'AMAZING'. They also have delish mocktails and warm bevys for those winter evenings. The atmosphere is relaxed yet classy. They also have an amazing patio in the summer that I intend to check out this summer!

Date nights are so important for any couple. Especially with a busy lifestyle (like the one me and Jaz are currently leading due to wedding planning, job switching, apartment hunting, tax season, social life etc.), taking a 'time out' is a necessity not a luxury. Its a great way to give your partner the time and attention they deserve and have those qualitative one-to-one conversations.
We have a date night rule: no phone on the table. And I think its the best thing we have done. Its important to feel heard, and with phones and notifications around- there is sure to be distraction and disruption. So this one rule really does work. I try to implement this even on dates with girlfriends and double dates with our friends. By the end of every date night, you will find you actually feel fresh, connected and happier with the quality of your hangout.
So happy phone-less dating my loves.
Love and Light,
